The British Council held a teacher training workhop Setif from 6 - 16 july 2008

The British Council held a teacher-training workshop in Setif from July 6th to July 16th. This was the first of a series of training workshops following pilot courses with the Algerian Ministry of Education with the aim of training 1000 teachers of English.

One hundred and eighty middle school teachers from eighteen Wilayas (Tebessa, Ettaref, Annaba, Guelma, Skikda, Souk Ahras, Khenchela, Batna, Oum el Bouaghi, Constantine, Setif, Mila, Msila, Jijel, Bejaia, El Oued, Biskra and Bourdj Bouarreridj) took part in this course which was based on the following:

• Classroom Management
• Managing large classes and mixed abilities
• Teaching speaking skills

As part of this project, all course participants were offered the opportunity to undertake the Module 3 of the TKT . Module 3 focuses on managing the teaching and learning process:

• Teachers' and learners' language in the classroom
• Classroom management.
